DXS will feature a series of optics preceding the interaction point, which will assure the X-ray beam on the sample is fully tunable. All the optics is being designed to operate in-line, i.e. they will not alter the X-ray beam trajectory. This will make their use optional.
X-ray
Photon Energy: 4500 eV to 22 keV
Energy Bandwidth: Tunable from ~meV scale to ~eV for the entire photon energy range (continuously tunable below ~30 meV)
Pulse Duration: Will depend on the bandwidth, near the Fourier Transform limit (2 meV ~ 1 ps)
Beam focus size: 5 to 500 µm
Repetition rate: ~100 kHz
Pump Laser
OPCA system for wavelength conversion with repetition rate matching to X-ray pulses. Similar capabilities to LCLS-II project can be seen here.
