What to do before you leave SLAC and after you finish your experiment
Ship your equipment or materials back to your home institution
Before you leave SLAC, start your shipping arrangements back to your home institution. You’ll need to provide shipment details to your experiment POC to avoid delays.
Return your SLAC-issued items & clean up your work area
Return the follow items to your experiment POC:
- SLAC badge
- dosimeter
- any SLAC equipment
Clean up your work area before you leave.
Complete the End of Run survey
Your feedback is shared with management and staff to help us improve our services and to meet Department of Energy reporting requirements.
We appreciate your promptness and honesty!
Submit your publication
Inform us of your publications or student thesis that's based on research fully or partially done at our facility.
Add the proper acknowledgement to your publication
Read our guidelines for press releases and public communications

You’ve finished your beamtime, but your journey at our facility has only begun.
Attend our annual joint Users’ Meeting with the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource (SSRL), a week-long event that brings together the global light source community from academia, research labs, and industry.
At the event, you can:
- Participate in workshops hosted by leading scientists
- Attend our poster session and reception
- Engage with our sponsors and exhibitors
