Advanced X-ray Methods and Instrumentation for LCLS-II-HE Science
to be held at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory on Oct. 16-17, 2018
Registration and further workshop details (including information about LCLS-II-HE) are now available on the workshop website:
The High Energy upgrade to the current LCLS-II project (LCLS-II-HE) will provide coherent hard X-ray pulses at ~1 Å at repetition rates up to 1 MHz, with potential extension to 20 keV. Plans for LCLS-II-HE are progressing quickly. The conceptual design for the upgrade is now under review by DOE, and we hope to achieve CD-1 approval soon.
The specific purpose of this workshop is to further engage the science community in helping to identify the most compelling X-ray methods and instrumentation that will exploit the unique capabilities of LCLS-II-HE for the greatest scientific impact. The outcome from this workshop will help guide planning for new instruments for LCLS-II-HE.
In addition to the main plenary session, all participants are encouraged to present and discuss their ideas in the breakout sessions:
- AMO Physics, Gas-phase Chemistry & Attosecond Science
- Condensed Phase Chemistry
- Structural Biology
- Materials Physics
- Quantum Materials
We look forward to your participation in the workshop in Oct.
Sincerely,
Robert Schoenlein
