Dr. Matteo Mitrano will be honored with the 2019 LCLS Young Investigator on Sept. 26 at the User’s Meeting. Dr. Mitrano is being recognized for his pioneering work in the use of ultrafast time-resolved resonant X-ray scattering (RIXS and REXS) to probe excitations in high energy superconductors and the leadership role he played in these experiments.

The Young Investigator awardee is selected each year by the LCLS User’s Executive Committee from a pool of outstanding candidates nominated by LCLS users in all areas of X-ray science.
