LCLS Update: November 29, 2018

Daniel DePonte and colleagues have been developing tiny nozzles for creating thin, shimmering liquid sheets to carry samples into the LCLS X-ray beam. They describe the latest results in Physical Review Fluids, and the technique is now part of the standard LCLS toolbox.

A Physical Review X paper by James MacArthur, Alberto Lutman, Jacek Krzywinski and Zhirong Huang describes an effect that could be used to multiply the number of users that can simultaneously do experiments at LCLS.
